The second edition of the People of their Time campaign (2015) will expand the project to the North-East Region and in the cities of Chișinău (Republic of Moldova) and Cernăuți (Ukraine). A media campaign for the concept will be launched in each of these areas, in newspapers, on the radio and on TV), locally and regionally. At a first stage, the proposals made by the public will be studied by the representatives of our local media partners, who will document the selected nominations. In addition, the latter will also be documented by the editorial board of TIMPUL contemporary cultural review, and then sent to the Nationa Jury.

Short history of the first edition of People of their Time Gala (2014)

The first edition of People of their Time Gala was an awards ceremony for the People of their Time following a campaign for the promotion of Iaşi personalities, as a reverence any community should make towards its most meritorious personalities.

The event took place on 13 December in the Main Hall of the “Vasile Alecsandri” National Theatre in Iași and opened with a debate regarding cultural journalism and social involvement.

The Gala in Iași also included a charitable concert of world-renown pianist Raluca Știrbăț for the raising of funds for the restoration George Enescu’s home in Mihăileni, Botoșani county. The organizers awarded 3 Special Prizes and 2 In Memoriam awards to personalities who particularly honoured Iaşi’s cultural tradition.

The “Timpul” Review Association and Adenium were partners in organizing the event, with the help of Iaşi County Council.
